The highly trained staff of our Institute provides scientific analysis and expert evidences to the police and to the administration of Justice since 1961. The Institute is a member of ENFSI (European Network of Forensic Science Institutes).
The accreditation of most routine examinations to ISO 17025 terminated in 2012/2013.
The HIFS supported by Ministry of Interior and it is not available for private citizens. All samples examined must be submitted by law enforcement agencies or courts.

Workshops on new psychoactive substances were organized by the Hungarian Institute for Forensic Sciences along with the National Forensic Center, Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia in the frame of Hungary – Serbia IPA Cross-border Co-operation Programme (HUSRB/1203) on 22nd of August in Novi Sad and on 28th of August in Szeged.
